Job SummaryThe Facilities Technician helps maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment across all parish properties, including churches, parish centers, rectories, and grounds. Responsibilities include maintenance, repairs, event setup, and general facility upkeep under the direction of the Business Manager and Pastor.

Minimum QualificationsEducation:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, building repair, or related field preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Ability to operate maintenance tools, power equipment, and vehicles safely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing ladders, bending, standing for extended periods)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Successful completion of diocesan background check and Safe Environment training

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on parish buildings and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting)
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
- Monitor building systems and report deficiencies or safety concerns
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as directed
- Assist with cleaning tasks as needed (floors, restrooms, public areas)
- Perform seasonal maintenance (snow removal, salting walkways, lawn care, leaf cleanup)
- Ensure facilities and grounds are safe and presentable
- Assist with setup and teardown for liturgical celebrations, parish events, and meetings
- Arrange tables, chairs, and AV equipment as needed

Work Schedule
- Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
- Occasional evenings/weekends for parish functions or emergencies

Physical Requirements
- Standing, bending, climbing, and walking for extended periods
- Lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to travel between parish properties
