Job Summary
The Facilities Technician helps maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment across all parish properties, including churches, parish centers, rectories, and grounds. Responsibilities include maintenance, repairs, event setup, and general facility upkeep under the direction of the Business Manager and Pastor.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, building repair, or related field preferred
Experience & Skills:
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Ability to operate maintenance tools, power equipment, and vehicles safely
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing ladders, bending, standing for extended periods)
Valid driver’s license required
Successful completion of diocesan background check and Safe Environment training
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on parish buildings and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting)
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
Monitor building systems and report deficiencies or safety concerns
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as directed
Custodial & Grounds Upkeep:
Assist with cleaning tasks as needed (floors, restrooms, public areas)
