Our beautiful Easter Season comes to a close today as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the Church. We have fasted for 40 days during Lent and have feasted for the past 50 days during the Easter Season, and now we will return to Ordinary Time tomorrow.
We thank all of those who worked so very hard to make our Lenten observance, Holy Week, and Easter celebrations so memorable. We salute our many choir members, musicians, and cantors for so joyously enhancing all of our celebrations. Thanks also to our servers, lectors, ushers, liturgy planners, sacristans, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, church decorators, cleaners, and others who give so generously of their time and talent to make our liturgies so meaningful. May God bless all of you abundantly for your dedication and service to the parish.
A special thanks also to the many volunteers who worked so very hard to make the parish Lenten Fish Fry such a success.
On a personal level, I join Fr. Dan, Deacons Gary, Cliff, Don and Lou, and our seminarians, in thanking all those who sent us Easter greetings, cards, gifts, and spiritual bouquets. Thanks also for the beautiful baskets and delicious cakes, breads, candies and other goodies. May God bless you for your kindness and generosity to us.
