Praying together as a couple does not have to be a complicated (or frightening) process. For couples who are struggling with how to put this into practice, Fr. John Riccardo, a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit, is the founder of Acts XXIX, a ministry focused on transforming parish culture and reclaiming the Church’s missionary identity. He is also the host of the EWTN radio program “Christ is the Answer.” He offers this simple prayer practice for couples:
Try it this week:
Before bed, the husband places his hand on his wife’s head and out loud he thanks God for something that he sees in his wife.
He prays an Our Father.
The wife places her hand on her husband’s head and out loud she thanks God for something she wants to honor her husband for.
