For the past 5 years, it has been the greatest blessing of my life to serve my own home parish family, that I grew up in, as the High School Youth Minister. Walking alongside our young people in their faith, witnessing their growth, praying with them and for them, teaching them, laughing with them, and sharing in the life of this parish community has been a tremendous gift to me. I am deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me, for the encouragement you offered me, and for the many ways this parish has supported and strengthened my own faith during this time helping build the next generation for Christ. After much prayer and discernment, I wanted to share with you all that I will be stepping down from my position as High School Youth Minister in order to apply to St. Paul Seminary and continue discerning God's will for my life.
This has not been a decision made lightly, but rather with a heavy heart, and one that has come through tremendous prayer, spiritual guidance, and an intense entrustment to the Lord. So, I place everything in this next step completely in His hands and I simply ask for the grace to follow wherever He leads.
I pray that you all help in growing these high schoolers on my behalf as I so joyfully, faithfully, and lovingly have done as their Youth Minister. Now, as I continue on into seminary, I will be forever remember and praying for our parish's youth that I so deeply love. My last day serving in this role will be August 2nd. As we begin this transition, I ask that you please keep me in your prayers as I continue my discernment, and also pray for our parish as we begin the search for a new youth minister, who will continue the vital work of helping our young people be introduced to and walk with Christ. Please know that I carry deep gratitude in my heart for this family that I am happy to call my lifelong home. Thank you for welcoming me, believing in me, supporting our youth ministry, and allowing me the privilege of serving here. I pray that my service was something of benefit to you. I love you all and God bless you all. You will remain in my heart, my mind, and my prayers.
In Christ, Justin Probst Director of High School Youth Ministry
