Our Parish Pastoral Council was formed in the fall of 2021 to help ensure that the parish effectively fulfills its mission, first working to establish a Pastoral Plan. Now, Saints Martha and Mary Parish has a Vision, Mission, Values, Priorities and Goals that are the foundation of our efforts to become a Next Generation Parish, living out our values of hospitality, service, prayer and discipleship.
With teams in place to lead the implementation of our near-term priorities, it is time to identify new members to join our Pastoral Council to support that work and our parish broadly. Throughout the summer, we will be providing information, engaging in conversation, and entertaining questions to identify new members to join our Pastoral Council in this blessed work.
I love our parish and have been honored to be a member of the PPC. I have enjoyed the work to make the parish feel warm and welcoming while also addressing the concerns and ideas of parishioners.

What does the Parish Pastoral Council do?
The purpose of a Parish Pastoral Council is to foster the full participation of the parish in the Church's mission, including worship, community, faith growth, and service. It serves as a consultative and advisory body to the pastor, assisting in pastoral planning and promoting the common good of the parish.
Service on the Parish Pastoral Council is an opportunity to:
Gather with others in prayer to pursue common goals
Listen to the Holy Spirit and do God’s will
See the strength of one’s own faith and use that strength to share with others
Participate profoundly with the pastor and fellow council members in discerning God’s plan for our parish
Use one’s gifts and talents to better accomplish our parish mission
Witness faith in action with a team that seeks the very best for our faith community and parish family life
Who is qualified?
Very simply: those that God calls through discernment of this ministry.
People who are prayerful, growing in faith, and desiring to see that growth in others.
Listeners, collaborators, inviters and team players willing to roll up their sleeves.
Those who are optimistic and enthusiastic about the future of our parish.
