On Holy Saturday, the Church waits at the Lord’s tomb in prayer and fasting, meditating on His Passion and Death. The day is characterized by a sacred silence—a pause of anticipation—before the joy of the Resurrection is unleashed at the Great Vigil.

Join us for the traditional blessing of the festive foods that will grace your Easter table. This beloved custom, particularly popular in Eastern European traditions, involves bringing a basket filled with the symbolic foods of the season.

The Easter Vigil is the "Mother of all Vigils" and the pinnacle of the liturgical year. We gather after sundown to experience the dramatic transition from darkness into light, celebrating Christ’s victory over death.
The Four Parts of the Vigil:
The Service of Light: We begin outdoors with the lighting of the Paschal Fire. The new Easter Candle is processed into the dark church as we proclaim, "Christ our Light!"
The Liturgy of the Word: We journey through salvation history, listening to the stories of God's providence from Creation to the Resurrection.
The Baptismal Liturgy: We welcome new members into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist). We also stand together to renew our own Baptismal promises.
The Liturgy of the Eucharist: For the first time since Holy Thursday, we celebrate the full joy of the Eucharist, singing our first "Alleluia!" of the season.
